RIKS Academy

The field of Korean Studies overseas has developed greatly and produced many researchers. However, to date no systematic academic exchanges have been established for young Korean and foreign researchers. The Research Institute of Korean Studies (RIKS), a leading research institute in this field since its establishment in 1957, runs the RIKS Young Korean Studies Academy every year to provide young Korean Studies researchers with an opportunity to interact and communicate with each other from the initial stages of their research, with the aim of developing long-term relationships. The purpose of this program is to help young Korean Studies researchers to build a productive network and to develop professionally.

Eligibility Requirements 1. Korean and overseas graduate students in the field of Korean Studies
2. Students who can understand Korean-mediated lectures and present and debate in Korean
3. Students who can attend the entirety of the program
Financial Support Scholarship of KRW 1,000,000 and travel grant for foreign participants
Number of Students 20 (10 Korean and 10 foreign graduate students)
Number of Students April to May each year (expected duration of the selection process: about one month)
